Today I am totally loving the Hummingbirds of August. The past couple days, I’ve had several wonderful “close encounters” with hummingbirds in my own gardens. Yesterday, I was standing by the hummingbird feeder when I was watering plants… and I was wearing a bright red shirt. Next thing I new, there was a hummingbird less than a foot away!! Today I was petting the neighbor’s cat on our deck, and a hummingbird came over to hover in the lavender near me. LOVE THIS!!!

Hi, Rebecca! I love this blog post! Some of my favorite memories are when I encouraged the kids to run around outside in one of those good ol’ summer downpours. They looked at me like, “Is she serious?” Then, they bounded outside with so much enthusiasm. Rain is such a gift! Thanks for reminding us to celebrate!

Thanks for the mention, Rebecca! The really cool thing about last year’s Savoring Summer blog series is that I still remember clearly each of those mornings… because of writing that blog, I paid so much attention to nature and even a year later I’m remembering the sights, sounds, smells, etc… AND the lessons. So thank you for that opportunity!

Once again, you’ve shown us real life. REAL life. And the magic of the outdoors. I especially love how the lifeguard even had to smile. THAT, my dear, is impact.
